Your First Visit
During your first visit, we encourage you to bring all medications, vitamin supplements and other products that you currently are using on your skin. You should arrive wearing no make-up. Dr. Rice will review your skin concerns and provide several treatment options to choose from.
Standard medical treatments will be reviewed as well as other options including the benefits and drawbacks of each. In some cases, satisfactory results may be achieved simply by changing your cleanser.
If the condition cannot be treated in this clinic, you will be provided with a referral to the appropriate physician. Also, the role of nutrition will be explored. A Naturopath, Dr. Vivian Guy, and a Dietician are available for assistance.
The Pastiche Method
The method of advanced skin analysis used in our clinic is based on the Pastiche method developed by Florence Barrett-Hill. Malfunctions of skin cells result in various skin problems. Basically, the Pastiche method ensures that the practitioner has a solid knowledge of cellular structure and function. Vitamins E and C
Protection of the skin against free radical damage by the sun is a very important part of skin care. Vitamin E and C help to neutralize free radicals and should be combined with high quality sunscreens.
