Paraffin Body Treatments The use of Paraffin Wax has been recommended by medical professionals such as Physicians, Physiotherapists and Arthritis specialists for over 40 years. Paraffin helps to alleviate the discomfort of many ailments, such as, arthritis, bursitis, joint stiffness, joint inflammation, tendonitis, sprains, muscle spasms and sports related injuries. Paraffin may also be used to relieve dry skin as an intense and luxurious hydration treatment for the face or body. The self sustaining heat of the paraffin wax causes blood vessels in the skin to dilate therefore helping to promote increased circulation and flush out toxins. A paraffin treatment also promotes relaxation and stress relief. Here at the Riverside South Medical Skin Care Clinic we offer three main Paraffin Body Treatments:Paraffin Hand or Foot Treatment
Relax and condition your hands with the soothing properties of our paraffin wax. This treatment helps to alleviate aching muscles and joints associated with arthritis and relieve dry skin. The hands or feet are firstly cleansed, and then an intensive moisturizing cream is massaged into the skin. Paraffin wax is then applied and the hands or feet are placed in insulating mitts or boots to ensure maximum heat retention. The Paraffin remains on the skin for 15 minutes, after removal an intensive moisturizing cream is applied. *Optional Add On: A 15 minute hand or foot massage may be added on to this service if desired. Paraffin Back Treatment
A luxurious treatment designed for maximum relaxation. Also aids in the relief of back pain and helps to provide maximum conditioning for the skin. The treatment starts with a deep cleansing of the skin, which is followed by exfoliation and then a relaxing 15 minute back massage. A mask of paraffin wax is then applied to the back and remains on the skin for 15 minutes. After removal of the paraffin mask a light moisturising cream is applied to the skin.
Paraffin Facial
The soothing warmth of the paraffin wax can be used on any part of the body and a customized treatment can be specially designed to meet your needs.
