At the first visit, your concerns will be discussed, and the various treatment options will be presented. Clients have been surprised to find that treatments can be very reasonably priced, sometimes as low as $40.00 by simply changing their cleansers! We use prescription medications when suitable, and products such as botanicals or vitamins that have been carefully tested and are supported by medical dermatological studies. A copy of medical studies wait be presented to you during the consultation. The role of vitamins is to reverse some of the damage caused by the sun such as uneven pigmentation, roughness, thinness, shallowness, wrinkling, decreased collagen production, and irregular pigmentation. Rejuvenating AHA Peel. Our Alpha Hydroxy Acid peel provides gentle chemical exfoliation of the skin. Enhances skin tone, evens out skin texture and helps to rejuvenate the complexion by reducing fine to medium depth lines and eliminates pigmentation spots. Restylane Fillers. A long lasting non-animal based filler used to smooth out wrinkles and folds. Restylane is also used to enhance lip fullness. What is the Difference Between Botox and Fillers? This is a very common question in our clinic. Both are used for wrinkles, but work in very different ways. Botox relaxes the underlying muscles. Restylane is a filler that smooths out the skin surface. Also, Restylane can be used to enhance lip fullness. Almost all clients seen in the clinic are worried about an un-natural look to their lips. We are very careful to create a very natural and flattering appearance. Ladies and men after the age of 40 start to lose the lip fullness they had in their 20's. Our goal is to re-create what was there to begin with. If more fullness is wished, then it may be added in a few weeks. How About Pain Control? Another common question regarding fillers such as Restylane is about pain control. Two methods can be used: Firstly, a topical anaesthetic can be used which is usually applied 1/2 hour prior to the procedure. Secondly, for the lip area, a dental block can be done by the physician to numb the lip area. Botox. Botox is only injected by a medical doctor trained in medical esthetics and is used to relax facial muscles. The most common areas for Botox to be injected are the forehead for frown lines, between the brows and in the crows feet area. Botox had been used for many years in the field of opthalmology and was discovered to have desirable side effects such as wrinkle reduction. A very tiny dose of Botox is injected with a fine needle. Cost. The cost of Botox varies with the amount used and the area concerned. For example, the area between the brows varies from $200 to $600. How Long Will it Last? The relaxation effect of Botox starts at around 7 - 10 days. The duration widely varies, but is, on the average 4 - 6 months. Vitamin A Peel. This medical grade peel is a very gentle and effective was of treating most skin types. Peels can be used to minimize: Acne, Pigmentation, scars, or simply lighten and brighten the skin. Vitamin A is widely known to be important in skin health. It has many different effects. Microdermabrasion. The use of Paraffin Wax has been recommended by medical professionals such as Physicians, Physiotherapists and Arthritis specialists for over 40 years. Paraffin helps to alleviate the discomfort of many ailments, such as, arthritis, bursitis, joint stiffness, joint inflammation, tendonitis, sprains, muscle spasms and sports related injuries. Paraffin may also be used to relieve dry skin as an intense and luxurious hydration treatment for the face or body. The self sustaining heat of the paraffin wax causes blood vessels in the skin to dilate therefore helping to promote increased circulation and flush out toxins. Relax and condition your hands with the soothing properties of our paraffin wax. This treatment helps to alleviate aching muscles and joints associated with arthritis and relieve dry skin. The hands or feet are firstly cleansed, then an intensive moisturising cream is massaged into the skin. Paraffin wax is then applied and the hands or feet are placed in insulating mitts or boots to ensure maximum heat retention. The Paraffin remains on the skin for 15 minutes, after removal an intensive moisturising cream is applied. *Optional Add On: A 15 minute hand or foot massage may be added on to this service if desired. Paraffin Back Treatment. A luxurious treatment designed for maximum relaxation. Also aids in the relief of back pain and helps to provide maximum conditioning for the skin. The treatment starts with a deep cleansing of the skin, which is followed by exfoliation and then a relaxing 15 minute back massage. A mask of paraffin wax is then applied to the back and remains on the skin for 15 minutes. After removal of the paraffin mask a light moisturising cream is applied to the skin. Paraffin Facial.
